Resources for families and staff

We want to share a list of resources that LAUSD has compiled to share with staff and families affected by the Los Angeles Fires. This list includes information for evacuation shelters, Housing Assistance, and food resources. If you know someone who might require support, please share the resources listed below.

How to Receive Free Uber and Lyft Rides During LA Wildfires

  • Uber: Apply the promo code "WILDFIRE25" in the Wallet section of the Uber app before requesting a ride to designated locations. Note: The discount does not apply to tips and cannot be combined with other promotions/discounts. Instructions for applying promo codes can be found here.

  • Lyft: Los Angeles residents can use the code "CAFIRERELIEF25" in the app for two rides up to $25 each ($50 total).

Housing Assistance 

Resources are available to help families affected by wildfires secure temporary housing during emergencies.

Airbnb.org Free Housing for Wildfire Victims Airbnb.org, in partnership with local nonprofit 211 LA, offers free temporary housing to Los Angeles County residents displaced by wildfires.

  • Targeted Areas: Altadena, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Sylmar

  • Details: Stays are funded by Airbnb.org and generous hosts offer homes for free or at a discount.
